STATEWIDE EFFORT LAUNCHED TO PROMOTE RIGHT TO WORK AND OTHER PRO-BUSINESS LEGISLATION

Lexington, KY (January 11, 2005)) A newly formed public interest group is organizing in Kentucky to support legislation to remove barriers to economic growth resulting from years of influence by big labor and forces hostile to free enterprise.

The Commonwealth Progress Council (CPC) will work statewide to build support for Right to Work, changes in prevailing wage laws and other legislation that can lead to a more robust and job-friendly economic environment.

The measures of the state’s economic vitality indicate trouble ahead for Kentucky businesses and the people they employ if changes are not made, maintains CPC executive director Doug Alexander, a Lexington businessman and press secretary to former Governor Wallace. G. Wilkinson.
